Pass the PMP with confidence.
A complete reference for every feature of PMP Pilot — from your first practice question to your final readiness check before booking the July 2026 exam.
Welcome
Welcome to PMP Pilot — your AI-powered PMP readiness intelligence platform aligned to PMBOK 8 and the July 2026 Examination Content Outline (ECO). This manual walks you through everything you need to know, from creating your account to passing the exam.
What is PMP Pilot?
PMP Pilot is not just another PMP question bank. It is a Readiness Intelligence System built around four ideas competitors miss:
- Misconception Intelligence™ — when you get a question wrong, we identify which cognitive bias caused it, not just what the right answer was.
- ECO 2026 alignment — every question is weighted to the new domain split (33% People, 41% Process, 26% Business Environment) and the 60/40 Agile-Hybrid / Predictive methodological mix.
- Quality-graded item bank — every question is mapped to a specific ECO task and PMBOK 8 reference, passes 8 structural checks before going live, and is continuously re-scored on real-user performance (difficulty, discrimination, and distractor health). Weak items are flagged and reworked, so what you practice on is what the exam actually tests.
- AI Socratic Tutor — an "Ask Why" button on every question that coaches you through the reasoning, never just gives you the answer.
- Predictive Readiness Score — a calibrated pass-probability that warns you before you book your exam if you are not ready.
Getting Started
1. Create your account
Go to thepmpilot.com and click Sign up. You will be asked for your name, email, country, phone number (optional), and PMP target date. Verify your email — you will receive a confirmation link within a minute.
2. Complete your profile
From the dashboard, click your avatar → Profile. Setting your timezone and exam date unlocks personalized study reminders and the auto-rebalancing study planner.
3. Take a diagnostic
Run a Sprint Quiz of 10 questions. This calibrates your initial readiness score and identifies which biases to watch.
4. Open your study plan
From the dashboard, click Study Planner. Pick a 2-, 4-, 8-, or 12-week plan. The planner will assign daily practice based on your weakest domains and biases.
Your Account & Profile
Account fields
- Email — used for sign-in and notifications.
- Phone — optional, used only if you enable SMS reminders.
- Country & Timezone — used to schedule reminders and format dates.
- PMP target date — drives the study planner.
Resetting your password
On the login screen, click Forgot password. You will receive a reset link valid for 1 hour. If it expires, request another one.
The Dashboard
Your dashboard is your daily home base. It shows, at a glance:
- Days remaining to your target exam date.
- Your current Predictive Readiness Score.
- Domain performance vs. ECO 2026 targets.
- Active bias patterns to address this week.
- Your next scheduled study block.
- Streak counter and weekly minutes practiced.
Adaptive Exam Simulator
The simulator generates exams that mirror the real PMP in structure and difficulty.
Question composition
- Domains: 33% People, 41% Process, 26% Business Environment (±3%).
- Approach: 60% Agile/Hybrid, 40% Predictive (±5%).
- Embedded contexts: sustainability (ESG), AI tools, vendor management.
Starting an exam
From the dashboard click Start Exam and pick a length: 10, 20, 50, 100, or 180 questions. The 180-question option mirrors the real PMP and runs for 240 minutes with the same break structure.
Saving and resuming
Sessions auto-save every 30 seconds. If you close the tab or switch device, the next time you open the simulator you can resume exactly where you left off.
Practice Modes
Sprint Quiz
10–20 questions, optionally filtered by domain or bias. Best for daily warm-ups.
ECO Task Mode
Filter by a specific ECO task ID (e.g., 1.2 — Lead a team). Useful when you've identified a weak area.
Scenario Chain Mode
Multi-question case studies that simulate the way the real exam chains follow-up questions around a single project context.
Full 180 Mode
A complete mock exam under realistic conditions, including the two 10-minute breaks.
Timing & Pearson VUE Mode
The Pearson VUE mode replicates the look of the actual testing-center interface: identical navigation, the same flag-for-review behavior, the same break timer, and the same calculator. We recommend running at least three Pearson VUE sessions in the two weeks before your exam.
AI Socratic Tutor (Ask Why)
After answering any question (correct or wrong), click Ask Why. The AI tutor:
- Explains the PMBOK 8 principle being tested.
- Walks through why each option is correct, partially correct, or wrong.
- Connects the question to your personal bias history.
- Suggests one ECO task to practice next.
Misconception Intelligence™
When you choose a wrong option, PMP Pilot tags the most likely cognitive bias behind that choice. We track ten:
- Escalation Bias — escalating before facilitating at team level.
- Authority Bias — defaulting to hierarchy over team autonomy.
- Speed Bias — rushing without context.
- Analysis Paralysis — over-documenting before acting.
- Process Over People — reaching for artifacts instead of conversation.
- Documentation Dependency — refusing to adapt without a formal change.
- Legacy Predictive Mindset — waterfall rigidity in hybrid contexts.
- Command and Control — forgetting servant leadership.
- Value Blindness — focusing on tasks instead of outcomes.
- Sustainability Neglect — ignoring ESG factors.
The dashboard shows your top three active biases and links to targeted drills for each.
Error Journal
Your Error Journal collects every wrong answer with full context: the question, your choice, the correct answer, the bias tag, and the AI tutor's explanation. From the journal you can:
- Filter by domain, bias, or date.
- Re-attempt any question once.
- Export the full journal to PDF for offline review.
Personalized Study Planner
Choose a 2-, 4-, 8-, or 12-week plan. The planner allocates daily blocks based on:
- Your target date and weekly availability.
- Your weakest domains relative to ECO 2026 targets.
- Active bias patterns from the last 14 days.
When you fall behind or surge ahead, the planner auto-rebalances the remaining days. You can also drag a block to reschedule it manually.
Predictive Readiness Score
The Readiness Score is a calibrated estimate of your pass probability if you sat the exam today. It combines:
- Recent accuracy weighted by ECO domain targets.
- Bias resolution trends.
- Timing performance under Pearson VUE conditions.
- Question difficulty (item response theory).
Cross-Device Sync
Start a session on your laptop and finish it on your phone. Sync is automatic, but you can verify status from the small indicator in the exam header:
- Green — all changes synced.
- Amber — queued, syncing now.
- Grey — offline, will sync when you reconnect.
Reminders & Notifications
From Settings → Notifications you can enable:
- Email reminders — daily or weekly.
- SMS reminders (Elite only) — sent in your timezone.
- Browser push — best for desktop study sessions.
- Weekly progress digest — summary of streak, score, biases.
You can opt out of any channel at any time. SMS replies STOP also unsubscribe.
Language & Region
PMP Pilot supports English (full), with French and Spanish in progressive rollout. The language picker is in the top-right of the header. Your timezone and date format are auto-detected from your country but can be changed in your profile.
